IFLA LibPub SIG and the Library Publishing Database
Description
Library publishing activities are growing worldwide. In 2018, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Library Publishing Special Interest Group (LibPub SIG) was established aiming to create a global library publishing community. Through partnership with Library Publishing Coalition (LPC), LibPub SIG initiated the IFLA library publishing database project in 2019. The poster will illustrate the background, mandates, and activities of IFLA LibPub SIG. It will showcase the collaboration of SIG and LPC, and the library publishing database project, including the data collection and database development process. Opportunities and challenges in creating an international organization and project will also be discussed.
